First Responders are faced with traumatic experiences on a regular basis as part of their jobs. They have unique challenges that have a long term impact on their personal and professional lives. Collectively we have over 25 years experience working with this population. We specialize in trauma treatment with First Responders and EMS personnel and as well as their family members. We are certified and have extensive experience with Critical Incident Stress Debriefing and Crisis Management. We are certified with the IAFF Peer Support Training Program and act as peer support clinicians. Amy Davenport Dakin is the director of the Behavioral Health Program for the Professional Fire Fighters of Maine
Our focus is to help first responders and veterans heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing treatment. Many have experienced the healing effects of listening and being validated in the therapeutic environment. Amy Davenport Dakin is EMDR certified, CISD, a Certified First Responder Counselor, a Certified Trauma Counselor as well as dually licensed with Maine and New Hampshire. Telehealth services are available. Face to Face sessions are available in Readfield, Maine. In addition to therapy services we provide connection to other vetted providers and resources. On site trainings are available. See download section for more details under Training and Consultation Services.

Amy Jajliardo is a newly minted, conditionally licensed LCPC. She graduated with the first cohort from UMF's new Master's in Counseling with an Emphasis in Creative Arts. She returned to school after 27 years as a military wife and 26 years as a stay at home, homeschooling Mom. Her dream, in going back for her Masters, was to be able to "help the helpers". She has been a peer mentor to caregivers of Veterans and saw how easily it is for those on the frontlines of caring to get forgotten. She is also an Army Reserves Veteran and served as a Combat Medic. She is enthusiastic about working with first responders, veterans and has a special interest in working with family members. Amy can be reached through New Perceptions or by calling (207) 200-1265
